I am very excited to share my interview with NewInBooks: Author Interview
I wear lots of different hats – I am a wife and mom, I am an engineer, I am a small business owner, I am a teacher and I am a writer. I am a chaplain and a seminary graduate. I am also the director of a writing group – we can be found at Carrollton League of Writers and we are a warm and welcoming bunch! I have a passion for learning about people and cultures from around the world and often host international students in our home. I camp and hike, ride bicycles and horses, and create web pages. I enjoy model rocketry and playing table tennis. I have been a Trekkie for as long as I can remember and I always wanted to impress a dragon and fight thread.
I am a follower of Jesus Christ. This list is by no means exhaustive but in everything I do, I strive to follow what Paul wrote in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Excellence comes in many forms and there is much value in writing informatively and writing for entertainment. I hope to do both.
My writing endeavors include an Advent devotional – it is my hope that Taking Back Advent blesses those who already know our Lord and Savior and brings the gospel to those who don’t. I am very excited about my science fiction novel called Alien Neighbors – I recently launched it and am thrilled to share it with the world. It recently won 2nd place at the 2022 North Texas Book Festival for Adult Fiction. Another novel (historical fiction with a large dollop of magical realism, about a woman and her horse) is also in the works. Most days I spend my time as an IT QA professional, but in my spare time I am working hard at writing and teaching, spending time with my wonderful family, and riding my horse once in awhile…
